World Obesity Day
Nestlé Health Science Celebrating Health with Commitment
Obesity is a complex and multifactorial disease that continues to increase at a rapid rate with approximately 800 million people worldwide who struggle with obesity.
There are several factors such as genetics, mental health, limited access to healthcare, lifestyle, and the consumption of highly-processed foods that have been associated with increasing a person’s risk of developing obesity.
Additionally, a person with overweight and obesity is at a significantly higher risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and even some cancers. Therefore, early treatment and management of obesity is imperative.
On this World Obesity Day 2021, we at Nestlé Health Science proudly support the message of “EveryBODY needs Everybody” through our ongoing partnerships with key governments, global thought leaders, healthcare professionals, and consumers to fight obesity.
Our recent collaboration with the UK National Health Services on the Low Calorie Diet Programme is just one of the many important initiatives that “Together We Can” bring hope and improve lives of individuals with obesity and type 2 Diabetes.
On this World Obesity Day, hear how the OPTIFAST program has changed and improved the health and overall wellbeing of one woman’s life to inspire others and take action to start the journey to a healthier lifestyle.
